The point of this course is to learn to handle patient care well beyond diagnosing and treating pathophysiology.

Nearly all the following topics are pertinent to practicing physicians, none of which you will study systematically under guidance from a practicing physician in your other courses in years 1-3.

I will prepare you to handle patient care beyond diagnosing/treating pathophysiology by training you (among other things) in: ethics, law, history, business, emotional intelligence, quality control, and data/evidence pertinent to practicing physicians.

A doctor's spirituality is important. To the extent you want, I wish to discuss ways to incorporate your faith to alleviate suffering.

I focus on my mentee's questions.

I enjoy learning from students.

I have won a Marian mentor award for my approach.
